Mission Statement

The mission of the United States Probation Office for the Northern District of West Virginia is to effectively serve the Court, community, clients, and victims. We accomplish this by conducting comprehensive investigations and presentence reports and through using skilled, balanced, and targeted supervision to promote rehabilitation in persons under supervision to increase public safety. As an integral part of justice, our agency is committed to adhering to performance standards of excellence by acting in a professional and dignified manner. We accomplish these goals by providing our most valuable resource, our committed, unified, and passionate criminal justice professionals, with a harmonious working environment and encouraging the highest level of personal and professional development..
